Mend Ryobi P3001 Petrol Blades Engine

hedge trimmer does not run unless on ckoke?

My ryobi petrol hedge trimmer starts ok, and runs on choke ok, but a soon as the trigger is pulled which switches off the choke and starts the blades running the engine dies. I have tried adjusting the carb. screw but this makes no differernce?
