Mend Potterton Prima 80 Boiler Ignition Pilot

How do I fix a Potterton Prima 80 Boiler Igniton?

Just fired up a Potterton Prima 80 Boiler today for the first time in 10 months. Worked fine at first, then went to continuous sparking of igniter and pilot on only. Main burner not kicking in. Any suggestions?

Ronnie,
same thing happened to my potterton boiler. I needed a mercury switch which was quite cheap and it was fitted by gas board fitter i n .a few minutes.

if the pilot is lit but is continuosly sparking then you need a new pcb, it's quite common.
if the pilot and the main burner light then it goes back to pilot only, with no sparking, then the gas valve is faulty.
