Mend Whirlpool Gas Burners Ignition

Why do my gas burners on the hob light for a second and then go out ?

My cooker is a whirlpool gas hob and although I have just replaced the gas cylinder the burners won't stay lighting,I did use the last cylinder until it was completely out and the ignition does seem to be working.Thankyou
