Mend Rowenta DG 980 Generator Works Iron

How do I replace a trigger on my Rowenta DG 980 steam generator?

My steam generator works like a regular iron but when I press the trigger it doesn't click to allow an electrical connection to release steam. Can I remove the heel plate and then pop up the handle cover to access the trigger connections?
