Mend Tefal 2835/A88/23 Steam Iron Repair

How can I fix my Tefal pressing compact iron, model number 2835/A88/23 1706?

My Iron turns on and the water heats up in the tanks, but the iron will not turn on, it was tripping my main fuse board but now will not work, please help.
