Whirlpool AWO10561 FP Problem?

I ran the machine empty on the longest hottest wash cycle with half a cup of caustic soda and it completed the whole wash for the first time in a week. I suspect that as the machine is normally used on 30 or 40 degree cycles the little rubber tube between the pressure chamber and the pressostat had become gunged up or limed up and the caustic cleared that. Have done 5 washes since and working fine. Perhaps one hot empty wash a month would prevent future problems.
