How can I fix my Polti Vaporetto 900 Forever Inox Steam Generator iron?

The sleeve covering on the monotube (flex) has worn through to the wires and needs replacing. I have purchased a replacement monotube but need instructions on how to fit it and particularly how to undo the casing to take the base and the iron itself apart to do the repair.
