How can i fix my cd player, dual, xd7500?

I have purchased and installed a Dual XD7500. When I first turned it on everything seemed to work ok except for a crackle sound in the speakers and then no sound at all. I removed the player and double checked all the wireing. Everything is in order, the same process keeps happening. At first there's sound with some static and then nothing. The display and player work fine, just no sound. I have gone 2 weeks w/out music and drive 1 hour each way to work. HELP!
