Porcher Veneto 9012X - how to fix slow leaking?

My 20 year old Porcher Veneto toilet, model #9012, is leaking very slowly, although it does not actually flush or overflow. When flushed works properly. I need to replace membrane and piston assembly Parts #83086.00.000 and #83140.00.000. Can this be done without removing and re-seating the toilet? Any special information on replacement of these parts?

I realize the question is more than 6 years old but I'm adding this comment in case others stumble across this post.

Yes, the Porcher flush mechanism can be fixed without removing the toilet. Simply remove the tank lid and you will have access to the flushing mechanism.

There are 2 separate mechanisms: the tank filler and the flusher. The main component of the flusher can be removed from its shell and this will give you access to the piston and associated membranes.

First note the 2 plastic clips on the top edge of the flusher housing. They hold the piston, etc., in place. Carefully pry up those clips as you simultaneously attempt to rotate the piston mechanism counter-clockwise. Once free, simply lift out the piston mechanism.

On the bottom of the piston assembly is a plastic part that holds on the main closure membrane. Rotate it 30-40 degrees either way until it loosens, then remove it.

Now you can remove the main closure membrane as well as the secondary membrane inside the piston.

If the membranes are still quite flexible and not damaged, try simply cleaning them and each seat that they seal against with soap and water. (That worked for me.)

Otherwise replace the piston assembly (part number #83140.00.000).
