hear go's... I need to fit a alternator belt to my 1999 2.5 diesel transit?

I need to fit a alternator belt to my transit van,the belt i have been give seem's far to long, any idea's.

Are you routing the belt correctly as they do look far to long but the belt goes all around the houses.
