Our hotpoint aquarius DF23 dishwasher has a problem?

Hello, our hotpoint aquarius DF23 dishwasher has just packed up. The machine failed to go through a cycle, although the program selector stopped between the 4 and 5 setting, the soap block has not been used and the fuse blew, with water still inside the dishwasher.Despite changing the fuse and an evident noise coming from the selector nothing happens when it is turned manually and the water remains inside, even though the filters are clean.Can anybody give any advice on this please.
