lg px 50 help!!!?

Hi we have a LG PX50 tv,it has been fine but last night my husband switched it off by the plug as we couldnt find the remote!The tv wont even come on now,there is no stand by light but when i put the power cord in i can hear crackling...the power cord is working but the tv isnt ?any ideas
