Mend Door Open Stuck

Front door won't open?

Can anyone help my front door wont open the door seems to be stuck in the closed position the handle does not seem to go down far enough to disengage the levers holding it.If I push up it moves slightly but does not go right down.

Sounds as if your gearbox mechanism is broken, just wear and tear. You will probably have to call out a locksmith to fit a new one, expect to pay in the region of £175 for supply and fit.
