Mend AEG 610 Washing Machine Appliance Error

AEG lavamat 610 doesn't automatically empty?

My AEG 610 washes fine, then goes into 'rinse hold' without rinse hold being selected. You then have to turn the knob and select 'spin' manually. Any ideas?
