How to replace a rewind spring in Briggs/Stratton push lawnmower?

I removed the pull start assembly, removed the broken spring, and try to fit a new spring.
New starter rewind assembly cost in US $37.90 Ok
Here in Aus.well over $100.-Not OK . Model 100700 Part number 490647 .Help !!

If you cannot fix it yourself then no one is ripping you off. They are providing you with a service that is obviously technically more advanced than you. Do you accuse your doctor of ripping you off when he/she knows how to put you right and YOU don't???

I will take my mower to the repair shop and let him rip me off. My answer is no . I will sell it now for cheap spares to help others.
