what mix is it ie petrol/mix fraction?

I have always seen that manufacturers specify 25:1 as the mixture ratio which is 25 parts petrol to one part 2-Stroke oil, however trade professionals have told me that 40:1 is adequate. What I find easy is I can buy a small bottle 2 stroke oil containing 200 mLs which is perfect to pour into a 5 Litre petrol container 25:1 hope this helps
