I have Ford Ka (2004) which has been off the road and undriven for a couple of years. Mechanic has now told me the fuel pump in the tank is broken and the whole tank needs replacing. Is this likely (car has only done about 6000 miles)? How much should this cost?
Thank you
Unless the the tank is leaking it's very unlikely to need replacing! the fuel pump might of siezed up and it will cost around £140 + fitting about 1/2hr the pump is expensive as in the same unit is the transmitter for the fuel gauge
