I have a mk3 escort that sometimes seems to run a little idle - can anyone help on how I can change this, i think it may be the throttle cable as the clasp comes off when I put my foot down.
Also the speedo does not work although again sometimes appears to bounce - where do i check if this has come loose?
speedo drives on these were bad for wearing which could be down to worn diff bearings which was also a common fault on these,you will have to remove the speedo drive from the g/box and if it is shaped like an hour glass then you could try a new drive,if it packs in again in a short while then would suspect diff bearings
