Mend Vaillant GB 242 EH Gb Eh Water

i have a vc gb 242 eh vaillant 41 044 07 ?

everytime i put the water on the flame starts to lift from the burners and i can smell gas outside from the flue pipe, i had a new fan fitted prior to this problem occuring, could it be something to do with that~???

Indeed it could be to do with the fan. Fitted poorly, not correctly sealed between inner and outer flue will cause exactly those problems.
