Mend John Deere 68 Runs Fine Hard

how can i fix my jd 68 tranny?

i have a old jd 68 mower and it starts and runs fine have a hard time disengaging it from reverse and finding neutral also will not go forward it just smokes from the belts under mower when try going in forward gears any suggestions would be helpful

Check that the transmission brake isn't jammed on. A mal-adjusted clutch/brake linkage can cause these symptoms on a multitude of different brands - not sure about JD specifically.
