Mend Door Lock Changing

UPVC Door lock complication?

We were changing the barrel on the UPVC door and my Dad unscrewed more screws than needed. When we were nearly finished we noticed at the top of the door there was a hook which had gone in to the lock position, now we can't get it back.Please can you tell us how to put it back.
