How do you remove the front housing of the Bissel Proheat Carpet Cleaner?

Can't find my user guide and need help for following.
I had no problem removing the top housing with the trigger assembly.
How do I remove the bottom casing around the on/off switch which appears to be molded around the wheel assembly. I can get some play and separation at the top part of the casing but don't want to force anything and snap the plastic casing or something else. (Already removed the accessory part) I want to get behind the Ready Light to clean the "plumbing" as I am not getting any spray when using the upright. Any help?

I don't have an answer but want to say that I feel we have all been taken to the "cleaners" by Bissell. I have had my Proheat in the repair shop 2 times and the pros can't seem to fix it. I don't know why I keep hesitating to fix it myself, it's obviously a piece of expensive junk!

This isn't really much of an answer. More of a huge THANK YOU for the question, for the sponsors of this forum, and especially for the reply. My Bissell Pro Heat has been sitting in the closet for a couple years b/c after one of the first few uses it quit spraying on the floor. I was ready to take it out to the curb just to get it out of the closet, but decided to give fixing it one more try. Bissell customer service, of course, just told me to take it to my nearest service center. However, using this tip, I found that my heater box was clogged up, preventing water flow. When I removed the intake and exhaust hoses I found that I had to use a small (1/16") drill bit to clear out some of the gunk that had been setting up over the years. Be careful not to drill too far, and make sure the unit is unplugged from the electrical outlet. I then used a can of compressed air to finish the cleanup job. I'm back in business now. Only took a few minutes. THANKS again!

You only need to remove the screws holding the two halves of the handle base together to get at the heater box which is prone to the water channels getting gunged up stopping spray when on floor setting but ok on tools as water does not go via heater. Watch the small washers under each screw when you remove the cover!

If you have the same model as me, the black one, 12 Amps. There are six screws two at the front of the unit holding the clear plastic intake. Two are under the water/recovery tank. And two are at the back of the unit, just inside the wheels. One of them is tucked away beside the grey hose. The top half will separate from the bottom, but there are a number of clear plastic hoses that are attached to the various components underneath.

Good Luck
