Mend tevion V2i Suddenly Stopped Locking

How can I make calls?

I have a tevionV2i phone. Suddenly it has stopped making calls and the screen shows only the word "searching". I have tried locking it and then unlocking it but to no avail. It will find a name within kits memory and display the number but after that nothing. Any ideas?
