My Sam4s 5200m has been off for over a year. Sequence error comes up when turned on. Have tried an initial clear with no luck. should i try an MAC & reprogramme?

Yes. The battery cannot hold a charge for a year. It will have lost everything. Best to check the battery as well in case it has been ruined by being held flat.
