Mend Renault Megane Alize Noise

How can I fix my renault megane alize fan?

When the fan control is switched from internal circulation to external in-take it emits about 20 very lound knocks before operating quietly. This behaviour suddenly started during a long drive to the south of France and has been like it ever since.

Thankyou for your answer. To fix this I need to get a Haynes manual.

My 'T' reg Renault Megane was registered on March 1999. Unfortunately Haynes only do two manuals for the Megane - one covering the N to R reg and one from April 1999 to 2002. My car looks more like the R reg model than the April 1999 one. Which manual should I get?

The small motoro that runs the flap has jumoped off it's cogs. It's easiest to remove and just wedge half open
