big screen RCA tv comes on with sound but no picture. ?

so the tv comes on and we have sound but we do not have any picture. i have gone on line to see if i can find any information to help me, but have had no luck. My son-in-law was able to remove the back panel and we have that off so we can see the entire insides of the tv. Any help you can give me would be so appreciated.
