Mend Kenmore 665 Dishwasher Repair Appliance

kenmore dishwasher 665 ultra wash lock light problem?

I have a knemore ultra wash dishwasher with the lock light flashing. i tried all of the things suggested- holding down the no heat dry button to unlock, holding the start button to reset, shutting off the power for 10 minutes. the lock light is still flashing. It worked fine before this. Can anyone help? I really do not want to have to pay for expensive repairs if possible. thanks.

I tried the following and got the dishwasher running again:

1. Turn off breaker to dishwasher and wait at least 10 to 15 minutes. Then switch back on.

2. Press and hold down the HEATED DRY button for ten or more seconds. (The manual says 4 seconds, and this DID NOT work for me after many trials.)

We recently had a power outage due to a severe thunderstorm. You might ask any repairman if that could be the most likely cause of the issue if it has never before been a problem. If he says yes, check your homeowner's insurance to see if it covers the repair. However, beware of possible insurance rate increases due to filing a claim.

Our Kenmore is doing the same thing. Repairmen are costly. Maybe going back to old-fashioned hand-washing isn't such a bad idea after all!

Modern conveniences can be positively inconvenient if not downright exasperating at times.
