jump in the back, pick out all the round covers over the screws.Unscrew the screws (needs a special screwdriver) Remove the cover and locate the lock. get someone to push the button on the outside and you will see how the mechanism works, with pliers pull the operating rod that releases the catch. Then reattach the rod to the door lock. Its caused by slamming down the tailgate to hard!
