hotpoint wt960g not taking conditioner?

my hotpoint wt960g washer isnt taking the conditioner but washes fine, i have noticed that when not in use that inside the drum smells, i've cleaned out the drawer but hasnt solved the problem and no codes or coming up on the display......yet !!
