How can I fix Marghertia 2000 AB95 front loading washer?

There is a spring that has fallen off. It is about the size of the opening of the front loading machine. where does this belong and how do put it back in place ? I gather it is something to do with sealing when door is closed?

There is a Wire wrapped around the inside of the outer edge of the grey seal.

Very gently see if u can hook it with a screwdriver (breaking that rubber seal would be bad I imagine) Re sttach the spring and pop it back in place.
