2001 ford mondeo 2L deisel turbo. wont start?

the car seemed to loose power and splutter and after a while it died. fuel pump and air flow sensor seem ok but she wont fire up, she wants to take as the battery is not dead. a few minutes prior to the drive a friend reset my immobiliser fob as i could only use the locking system manually. i now have remote locking back in use. your help would be apprecaited
