How can I repair my blinds?

For repair of a continuous loop I really liked Fayetteville Snob's answer, but modified it slightly. Snob said "The cord welds together with heat. Light the ends - extinguish and quickly join together while still hot - roll the weld with fingers - let cool." I melted both ends with a lighter, stuck them together (I had to do this a couple of times to get it right), then trimmed the excess melt so that the cord would go thru the roller. This didn't look like it would hold for long, so after the trimming, I wrapped it tightly with dental floss! Worked perfectly and, much to my amazement, it still working after a couple of dozen cycles.

The best way to repair a continuous loop cord is to replace it. You can contact me at (831) 393-9709 for prices and sizes. Or ......... you will need a lighter and a pair of pliers. I have found that pliers are the best tool to cut cord. First... trimm both ends of your cord with your pliers. This next step Is trircky depending if your left or right handed, I am right handed so i will detail as a right handed person. Second ....with one end of the cord In your left hand between your thumb and Index finger so that the cord has three Inches of play. Third.... the other end of your cord In your right hand place cord In the crees of your right hand just so the end of cord is about three, or so, Inches past your hand.Fourth...place lighter In your right hand.(This next step takes practise) You are going to have lighter and cord both in your right hand. Fifth....Now strike lighter Igniting cord end In your left hand (Release lighter) and weld ends together rolling both ends with your thumb and Index finger of your right hand together.chances are you will have to repeat this over and over until you have a weld.

Order a new continuous cord from any number of online sites that sell replacement parts for blinds and shades. They are very easy to install, I have done one myself
