hotpoint wm55 water inlet solonoid?

Hi, my wm55 has just started to let the water (hot I think) in, in short bursts, causing the water pipes to bang, as if a tap is being turned fully on and off. Possibly a faulty solonoid, or the signal to it?
Also, occasionally, usually soon after starting a cycle it will trip out the breaker in the house, as if the electric load is too great for it, once reset, it is ok again, it has been doing this for about 3-4 months now.

Any ideas?
