Mend Vivitar DVR 850W Sd Card Protect

sd card keeps coming up card protect?

vivitar dvr 850w underwater camcorder when i insert a 4gb sd card and try to film or take stills, message on the display says card protect. have tried this card in my diital camara and it works fine,have tried another sd card in the vivitar but still comes up with the same message.
