automatic ford fiesta n reg when i put car into drive it stalls ans when i brake when car is cold it stalls

The chances are the in gear revs are too high. To verify hold the shift lever out of the N posistion slightly, revs should climb to about 800. Over 1000 clutch pressure is assisted by pitot pressure and is the equivelant of dropping a manual clutch. This is an engine management fault. The inhibitor switch povides the PCM (ECU) with N/D info
