Frister & Rossman Cub 3 won't sew ?

Hello Louise,
When you press on the foot control can you hear a buzzing sound from the motor ?
When you free off the stop motion as if to wind a bobbin does the balance wheel turn when you press on the foot control ?
if you take out the bobbin case and shuttle does the machine work when you press on the control?
