Mend Briggs & Stratton 287707 Mod Hard Start

B&S 14.5 hp Mod 287707 Hard to Start?

Will a bad Electronic Ignition Module make a B&S 14.5 hp Model 287707 Engine act as if the Timming is to far forward Befor TDC. When I try starting engine it kicks back agenst starter. Can eventually get it started, but it seems to not have the power it should.

Most likely the valves need adjusted.
If the exhaust valve is not opening up as it should the compression of the engine will cause it to kick back, and will eventually destroy the ring gear on the flywheel if not corrected.
