Mend Bosch HBN 4305.0 B Oven Temperature Repair

How can I fix the temperature knob on my Bosch oven HBN 4305.0 B?

The spindle behind the knob rotates without engaging the temp. control mechanism. Knob itself is ok (have checked by substituting other knob).
What new part will I need and how to I get to the relevant area to replace it?
