you need to remove surround (6 screws ) from the back access is through the 10mm holes in spacer. The glass is held in by 2 metal strips each held by screws top and bottom and facing rearwards.Are you sure its a Mk1 if your fire has a spade connectors for the canopy or base fan then its a Mk2 and a different procedure
