Mend Whirlpool 6AWM1600 Wash Door Continues

How can I fix Whirlpool 6AWM1600. ?

With load a quarter way through wash, "door" light flashes and will not wash. Even after it's turned off then back on, the light continues to flash and machine will not operate.
