Mend Suzuki VS800 Am Not Getting Spark

I am not getting a spark ?

I own a suzuki intruder 800 VS, year 2002. my question is this: It wants to crank over, but im getting gas, but i am not getting no spark. How do I get it to start? What could be the situation and how would I repair it?

i would start with disconnecting the side stand switch and seeing if it sparks then if not then try joining the two wires together on the loom to the switch and see if iut sparks then,ps see a doctor about you gas it can be painful :D
