By the sound of it, I think the fridge is low on gas,
the E8 will possibly be an "error" code.
can you hear a slight hissing with a gugrgling sound of the gas circulating, if not then carefully pull the fridge out so that you can see the back.
if the compressor at the back of the fridge is very very hot, then it's running for to long, indicating low gas.
You will need to call a local service engineer.
they will fit an adapter to the compressor pipework and regas the fridge
