Mend Fisher & Paykel Smartdrive Washing Machine Repair

How can I fix my F & P washing machine?

My 8 year old f & p Smartdrive washer does not show any signs of life when switched on and started. Could this mean that the board has gone, or is there anything I can do to fix it myself. There is nothing wrong with the power outlet.
