Ravenheat 85T Condensing Combi Boiler?

Boiler is about 5 yrs old. Added extra pipes to heat another room, after bleeding the system through (there was a little banging in the boiler while i was doing it), now when i turn the hot tap on, the boiler fires up for about 10seconds and doesnt give me hot water. also, the heating does the same but keeps trying to fire up till the red overheat light comes on. What have i broken or any ideas as to what i need to do? Thank you.

the only other thing i can think of and it's only happened to me twice is that the pump impeller has either distorted or broken off the shaft when you turn on the boiler if you put your hand on the flow pipe near the boiler you should feel the temperature vary slightly often it will go colder then start to warm up hope this helps

Hi Brian, no it seems quiet enough to, me anyway. But yes it always takes ages to bleed air out of the system. From someone elses advice i've checked the heat exchanger, and its clean of any partitcles. and from someone else who said that the pressure gauge may be wrong and to over pressure the system but that didnt work either.

the ticking sound is probably spark generator is the boiler noisy at all i have the same model and it's a swine for getting shut of air in the system

I have noticed a ticking sound which i dont remember from before, when it fires up for those short seconds. Maybe i'm just getting paranoid about every little sound.

yes i kept topping up system while i was doing it. Checked pump, spinning freely.
Anyone with other ideas?

you did refill the system after bleeding rads didn't you ? if you did check pump hasn't jammed undo large centre nut and spin shaft
