How can I restore picture integrity on viewing screen?

Camera is a Canon Power Shot A85.When taking a sequence of shots at a wedding, a successful run of photos was suddenly changed to the next one losing colour and becoming filled with horizontal lines,making the image useless.All of the functions act as normal, just the picture has gone to unwatchable.
