i am trying to download a video from my analogue video camera onto my computer when i go into windows movie maker it says no capture device detected how can i remedy this?

You need a capture device (like a ATI All In Wonder Card, Dazzle, ect) to capture and convert analog video to digital. So the message probably means what it says, you don't have such a device.

Are you sure you've connected the video camera to an INPUT port on your machine, and not the S-Video OUTPUT?
