auto gear stick moved and now the park is reverse?

my espace gear stick now reads park but is reverse anuld be greatfil t.y.d so on like neutral is drive so its seemed to slipped into a gear up and i can get the park to work as its further to the right is this the coloum or is the fault in the box any advise wo

probably a broken cable to the gearbox or one of the rods mounted on the gearbox which has balljoints on the end of the rods has come off
