Mend Creda EDH60 Cooker Ceramic Hob Replacement

how to replace a thermostat for a Creda ceramic hob?

Creda free-standing cooker model EDH60, Serial no. 741 1 00052.
The thermostat for the dual circuit Solarglo element is faulty, it does not control at low temperature settings.
How do I access the thermostat, I guess that the front panel must be removed somhow. Does the glass top have to come off as well?
