Mend Dirt Devil Ultra Vision Turbo

dirt devil ultra vision turbo?

my vaccums beater bar won't turn and the motor is smoking. It looks like the black band on the beater bar is kind of melting and chipping away from the belt turning. I put on a new belt and cleaned the whole machine and let it cool down but the problem is still there. Could the motor be burning out?? It is almost 4-5 years old. Thanks Linda

remove the bottom plate to expose the brush & belt remove the brush out along with the end caps, now try to turn the caps on the brush spindle (probably stiff/solid) so pull off the cap clean off all the debris from around the shaft refit the cap, repeat this procedure on the opposite end this should a 100 % improvement on the brush now turning FREELY, refit the brush bar and the belt to machine
