Mend Peugeot Problems Spark Start

starting problems with peugeot speedfight 100 HELP!!!?

hi there i have a peugeot speedfight 100, i have a spark on the bike but it doesnt want to start any help is apreciated

i am having the same problem my bike has a spark has conpresion and is getting fuel it wants to start but isnt geting power to run i have cleaned carb and reeds checked conections all ok tryed new spark plug and magneto but every now and again drops of petrol comes out the exhaust port put it has a new exhaust gasket and there no cracks on the exhaust please help

wezza what on earth are you talking about ?fuel pissing out of cables ect are you a 5 year old boy who has been allowed to play on your mummys pc? get a grip and if you dont know what your talking about which you clearly do not dont then say a thing.

If it is making a sound like it dosent want to start, your head gasket could be gone and need bolting down.

If it is making a spark your magnito plate may be gone, your CDI unit and cables might need replacing or your battery might even need charging.

You might even have a flooded carb.

Their are many ways a bike may not start. So it is good to test all techniques. Such as, taking off the carb and cleaning it. Becareful though cause petrol pisses out of one of the cables (Incase you didnt know). Check battery acid levels. Check that your head gasket is attached properly.

ok there are few reasons why a spark would be happening at the wrong time one is a faulty cdi unit but the most common one is one pf the things i mentioned below and that is a sheared woodruff key on the magneto that keys it to the crankshaft in the right position ,the magneto needs to be removed anyway to get access to the primary ignition coil so you would see then if it was ok as if its not it will be in two pieces.There are two igntion coils though the primary ignition coil is a part of the stator coil assembly which is the one they have mentioned calling it the 'generator coil',there are actually several coils in there including a charging coil a lighting coil and the primary igntion coil,the secondary ignition coil is up the rear of the bike on the left side i think right near the back of the seat under the rear fairing bolted to the frame with one 8mm hex headed bolt.hope that helps a bit for you adam.p.s electrex world would do the stator coil assembly you are asking about which includes the primary igntion coil.

and yes it has pretty good compression

well we had all the carb stripped down and it seemed fine to me, well we need to check the fuel pipe to see if there is any blockages , but apart from that we got told it was a coil its not the ignition coil its the generator coil , at the start of it it was my cdi that went a bit funny on me so i had a new 1 replaced but to start with it was running good for 15 mins and then that 1 blew so we got told if we put the old cdi back in ( the 1 that is still working and sparking) if we could get a generator coil we could get it to fire up, what was happening was apparently it was sparking, but down the bottom of the piston and not at the top so it was sparking in the wrong place so i wasn't sure if that was true so any ideas thanks, if it the generator coil we need to get do you know of any places where we can get them from there about 20-40 quid or summit but any help thanks

does it have good compression ?there are really so many reasons why it may not be starting mate
low compression
woodruff key sheared and timing out
a leaking crankseal
broken reed petal
contaminated fuel or incorrect fuel or low fuel
blocked carb jet/s
leaking gasket
blocked exhaust pipe and so on........
